The clinical trials of a “promising Ebola vaccine” developed in Canada have been stopped because of side effects. However, Ebola vaccines are moving forward in the U.S. because Congress has inoculated drug companies from prosecution for vaccines that have dangerous side effects.

WHO released a statement that Ebola is still outrunning efforts to contain it in West Africa. Scientists tell us that Ebola Zaire is the serial killer of all viruses with all the destructive talent to become the mother of all plagues. The virus may go dormant for awhile but it will strike again with renewed deadly force. Ebola can cross the oceans in a single bound, just a plane flight away.

I just studied shocking photographs from Ebola stricken Africa. I saw the dead and dying human bodies strewn along the side of the road like rag dolls. People passing by are helpless, hopeless and fearful to get near. Others are clueless to what is happening and become infected by those with whom they live and love.

Public celebrations of Christmas and New Years are banned throughout Sierra Leone West African for 2014. The government ordered shutdown of the country’s diamond-mining district after discovering Ebola is out of control in that area.

Reports indicate those who were required to remove bodies stacked up in a hospital have died including a nurse, ambulance driver and janitor. We still do not have evidence to rule out possible infection without direct contact.

WND reported that Dr. Amara Jambai, director of disease prevention and control in the Sierra Leone Ministry of Health, invoked a local saying to describe what is ahead: “We are only seeing the ears of the hippo.”

When (not if but when) the embers of Ebola hit densely populated areas that have poor sanitation conditions, an infectious epidemic unlike any we have ever seen could blow across the region like a prairie fire in a high wind.

In a futile attempt, each virus and disease is targeted with a new vaccine or drug. It may be futile except for those receiving billions of dollars to develop an endless supply of needles for fighting windmills. Drug needles, sharper than Don Quixoe’s sword, are insignificant compared to a robust immune system.

Our current medical dilemma is described by a few wise words planted in Don Quixoe’s mouth by his author, “The fault lies not with the mob, who demands nonsense, but with those who do not know how to produce anything else.”

University Hospital researchers in Geneva, Switzerland plan to resume testing the experimental Canadian Ebola vaccine on January 5, 2015.
